Directions for use to do this, the layers above must be equally as breathable (jacket, trousers) to enable the outflow of the humidity. High-performance base layers are designed to transfer moisture away from the body. For this to work properly, the outer layers must also be breathable. During times of intense physical exertion, dressing too warmly can actually make you feel cold, as perspiration is unable to escape and therefore remains on your skin.
