This collection of classic CONWAY TWITTY sides, compiled from EPs issued in the U.S., the U.K. and France between 1958 and 1961, comprises an eclectic selection of hits, flips and album tracks. Although Twitty would later become known as “The High Priest Of Country Music” (he had 40 Country #1s), it’s his early career as a Rock’n’Roller that interests most oldies’ collectors. This compilation presents the highlights of his R’n’R career, including the effortlessly magnificent ‘It’s Only Make Believe’ and further hits like ‘The Story Of My Love’, ‘Hey Little Lucy!’, ‘Lonely Blue Boy’, ‘She’s Mine’ and ‘Is A Bluebird Blue?’ Also included are early collectors’ sides like ‘Maybe Baby’, ‘Shake It Up’, and ‘I Need Your Lovin’’, plus ‘Blue Suede Shoes’, ‘Great Balls Of Fire’, ‘Treat Me Nice’ and ‘Shake, Rattle And Roll’, from his rare-as-unicorns-manure LP, “The Rock & Roll Story”.
